And he himself says that the theater is his department for spiritual revelations. After terrible trials - Vladislav Alexandrovich, when did Vera come to you? Because a lot of bad appears in Sumbur. And I wanted to write not about the momentary, but about the eternal.

In my youth, I composed songs and did not think about large forms, but when my daughter was born, I wanted to create something significant for children. My wife and I had a theater studio then, where my musical performance was born there based on the fairy -tale novel by Kipling Mowgli. And then a great grief happened: my wife Irina died. She was sick for four years, and then I clearly realized that it was impossible to fight and live without God.

After all, a person always needs hope. Alas, in order to understand something in this life, we often have to go through terrible trials. At Kipling, the word "law" hooked me. There is the law of God, the commandments: do not kill, do not steal, love your neighbor ... In my interpretation, the laws of the jungle are similar to them, and in the end they win. In the final, Mowgli punishes Sher Khan, who corrected these laws and imagined himself to be God, and then rushes to the Volchitsa Rakshe, who loved him like a mother, who was mortally wounded by Sher Khan.

Mowgli cries, experiencing loss, and it is at that moment that he really becomes a person. Kipling does not have such an event, but for me it is important. Such a finale gives this fairy tale a powerful spiritual meaning. Recently, at the premiere of the performance in St. Petersburg, I saw how a capacious boy cried years during this scene, and these tears are expensive. They sometimes tell me that children's performances should be entertaining, children do not need problems.

But this is wrong. At a young age, the soul develops. Great happiness when parents begin to drive children to the temple from an early age. How did the holy spouses become your heroes? The idea to write “Peter and Fevronia” was born with us as very personal. To God, we also came through pain and big trials, like Peter and Fevronia. And this story influenced all further creativity.

Preach between the lines - which church has become your spiritual abode? Amazing people serve here: rector Archpriest Artemy Vladimirov, Archpriest Evgeny Kansshin, Archimandrite Tikhon and others. We can always come to them to ask for advice, get a blessing. Here we adjust our inner life. And we verify creativity in the right direction. Father Eugene once said to me: “You can do a lot of good things in the theater, you can preach between the lines.” But the unusually beautiful story “On Peter and Fevronia of the Murom”, created in the first half of the 16th century according to the canons of that time, in my opinion, in my opinion, in my opinion, needed a modern person.

When he came to Father Tikhon for a blessing and asked if it was possible for me to crush this story, he did not even listen to my version, but simply said: “Go to Murom with your wife for a couple of days, there the answer will come by itself.” So it happened. In the Murom Hotel on the table, I saw a book of local author Anatoly Zubkov “The Tale of the Great Love of Saints Peter and Fevronia”.

After reading it, I saw that a new author's version was stated there, different from the canonical. So, I'm on the right track. So many new heroes appeared in my play, unexpected plot turns, but the spiritual essence of history was preserved. I hope that even the public far from the church will appreciate it. Maybe, seeing her, people will want to treat their loved ones more carefully, to protect the family.

Did you devote a song to people burned in Odessa - modern events in Ukraine are reflected in your work? For a long time I was overcome by a heavy feeling after a terrible tragedy in Odessa in May. But so far this terrible crime has remained unpunished, as if dissolved, although dozens of people were destroyed in the most cynical way in front of everyone. By and large, these are martyrs.

But for many, other people's pain, suffering, screams for help were commonplace.

People were outlined. But indifference can kill our world. I wrote about this the song “Alien Pain” and devoted people to Odessa burned in Odessa. My friend, a wonderful actor Alexander Babenko, will sing her with his ensemble. He still performs my songs at the front, raises the spirit of our guys.
