Barykin artist biography
To share Valery Barykin, the founder of the Sovetsky Pin-AP genre created an author’s album, presenting it with a collection of his best works since the year. By education, you are a theater artist, and before you found their style, you were engaged in design, including for restaurants. Does all this background affect your work today? In life, everything helps.
After the theater school, I worked as a designer in the newspaper, I acquired the first experience of the collage there: first I cut it out with scissors, then mastered Photoshop and already at the agency Alika Yakubovich made the first calendar for the construction company. It turned out to be an explosive mixture, but there was not enough exclusivity, so I decided not to collage the finished, but to draw everything from scratch.
My works began to use all who are not lazy: from Sochi barbecue to the Nizhny Novgorod restaurant. How did the idea of creating an album arise? The album is my creative autobiography, an encyclopedia of life in the style of PIN-up. It only has what I consider to be important for myself from a year. Tell us about the work for Yuri Grymov. Since the release of his film “Mu-Mu”, “NN.
Grymov is a big fan of Soviet art and the collector of everything connected with Yuri Gagarin. Here I am now writing a picture for him. He also liked the “chairman” with a heroine, vaguely like Volochkova. Sinefil and Meloman, for which film would you like to create a poster and what record is best to watch your album? I did both posters and animated credits for Russian films, but I feel the strength to go beyond the scope of Pin-Apa: I am ready to create a film plate for Grisha Constantinople, I often review his “dead souls”.
Baby Shumova Vasily Shumov, leader of the Center group. PIN-AP rhymes with sexuality, so we are waiting for revelations from you from the history of your relationship with the heroines of work. Honest Pioneer, we promise that only readers of NN will know about this. There is such a cringjo moment in Pin-Ape, some read it as a challenge to feminism.
But why? After all, I want to show a woman fully armed: this is her appearance, and her smile, and her sensuality. A typical plot: a bespectacled man, a kind of Shurik, like me, dreams of being with a beautiful girl, but he has very little chance. And she is confident in herself and bothering the guy. Remember the phrase in the “black mirror” about the protagonist: “Yes, he is a genius, but be careful with him, otherwise he will begin to stare.” Men, if at least some attention is paid to them, always begin to stare, and women are ironic over them.
Personally, I only stare at my wife Nadenka, she is a model, heroine and muse, and write down. Text: Alena Zobova.
