Usually on this day, on the basis of our university, we hold a joint event with the October Railway. This year, a large festive concert will be held in the square nearby.
For me personally, this is always a holiday. My life is connected with the railway from birth. Born in the family of railway workers, studied at St. Petersburg University of Railway Railway, worked not for the railway all his life, now at the university. Now, in my opinion, in connection with an increase in traffic flows, revival has begun. There is a reconstruction of the BAM, the construction of the northern latitudinal move of the railway in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, required to create cargo flows and transport goods.
I am convinced that our country needs a significantly more developed railway network, since the existing routes are not enough. One has only to look at Europe, the roadmap of which is very tightly covered with railways. Our network is clearly not enough for the economy to develop more actively. Of course, the construction of railway routes is a very costly thing.
Private companies cannot cope here, so the leading role in this issue should belong to the state budget. How much is it necessary?
Here it is impossible not to mention the construction of the metro, which is essentially an underground railway. For example, in Moscow we see crazy development in this area: one ring, another ring. As for the ground railways, we need to build the fourth path to Kolpino so that the capacity of the electric trains is much higher. It is necessary that all the suburbs of St.
Petersburg have a clearer message, for example, plots to Pavlovsk, Peterhof. We see how actively the areas of Sertolovo and Kudrovo are now developing, which officially relate to the Leningrad region, and in fact are in the city itself. The railway message could solve the problem with the through transportation capacity of these densely populated areas. Railway communication with the airport is required.
Now we are talking about Aeroexpress, and I personally would still extend the metro there. Yes, it is very expensive, but it would be hit for many decades! The rolling stock, railway tracks, automation, mechanics, communication are being improved. Modern IT technologies come, computer equipment to ensure speed, communication safety. Do young people willingly go to the profession?
Various ratings are now popular. An interesting rating of one of the information agencies in the country's universities, in which the main criterion was the demand for graduates of the country's economy. This indicator indicates that our direction represents the guaranteed area of activity. As for the set of students, it is always complete with us.
