There is almost no rock music in Azerbaijan, musical mass culture is almost completely national and, in general, pop-industrial. After the heyday of the end of the X, the second wave of the X Azerbaijani rock subsided. But it seems, not forever, perhaps, and just now - the third wave.

Genghis Eyvazov, known in Azerbaijan, Tattoo Master, made his first tattoo as a child with the help of a regular needle. He now grew up in Sumgait, his youth was in the years. He conducted all the tests on his own body. The tattoo machine was, of course, then not available. I began to make tattoos to my neighbors, and then they began to come to me from neighboring yards.

Basically, people wanted to fill their own signatures. It is very difficult to work with one needle, modern machines allow you to work much faster. One tattoo can be done in 15 minutes, and at that time, you had to spend a clock. Many customers who come here to fill or restore the tattoo, are surprised to recognize in the Genghis of Aivazov a famous rock musician. He is a drummer of the once rattling Azerbaijani rock band Yuxu "Dream".

The name of the group was proposed by its founder Ibrahim Emin. As Genghis recalls, they often saw in their dreams themselves already famous and held musicians. Their group became a dream, sleep - Yuxu. Or brief hassle? Genghis Eyvazov creates sketches in a tattoo salon. The first dream - since childhood I had a sense of rhythm. I made cabinets from cans for myself.

He is often played in pubs, and not so long ago, the Cave's version of the hit sounded on the stage of the Heydar Aliyev palace in Baku performed by the symphony orchestra Igor Ponomarenko. The group triumph began with the same scene. In the year, at the peak of the popularity of Soviet rock music, the Yuxu group participated at the Golden Autumn music festival on the same stage, only the palace was called the Lenin Palace.

The group managed to win the festival with the participation of 30 music groups. Now almost no one knows and does not remember the existence of rock music in Azerbaijan. And this despite the fact that she has a venerable tradition. The city of Rock in Azerbaijan is Sumgait, the same legend as Peter or Sverdlovsk Doy of Russian Rock. Some see the reason for this in the fact that Sumgait is an industrial city.

Cities with many factories are always associated with heavy music, the industrial rhythm requires electricity and international sound. But there are other versions. I have not heard before us that Sumgait is the birthplace of rock. So many said about us: "So these are the guys from Sumgait." After successful participation at the Golden Autumn festival, the group went to Turkey to record the album.

A trip to and France was planned, but it broke. The group remained in Turkey, played in Turkish bars. Everything went on as usual, but without breakthroughs - the audience liked it. They began to forget about their rise in their homeland, it was not possible to break into Europe, in the year the group completed its existence. A wonderful dream ended. Now Genghis plays only for himself.

At home, home -made rubber drums that a friend, a bassist of the group, is Ibrahim for him, is not to lose his skills. After the collapse of the group, all its participants scattered around cities and countries. The vocalist is now living in Moscow, the bassist in Sumgait, the drummer in Baku, the guitarist in Istanbul. By the way, he is the only group of the group who is engaged in earning music to this day.

The Yuxu group is the second dream but with the decay of Yuxu, the Azerbaijani rock did not stop, moreover, it was in the beginning - the middle of the X he gave great hopes. One of the most striking groups of Azerbaijani rock Unformal was founded in the year. The guys even managed to sign a contract with the famous Ukrainian producer Vitaly Klimov. The beginning for the group was successful, they recorded good tracks, but for many years they had to play in taverns, while the composition changed constantly. They made the first studio album only in the year. All groups created or developing in X had hopes to become famous and contrary to everything that Azerbaijani rock exists. But the heyday of the first half of X ended. Many rock groups that once experienced the heyday of the heyday either broke up, or deeply went into the underground, began to perform covers in clubs or completely changed the genre.

It was a time of openness of Azerbaijan to the world.The growth of the housekeeper, the presence of foreign specialists and the first tourists made Baku the international capital in which the rock must be. Then the rockers were even sometimes called on television. But this time has passed, the fascination of rock and in general global culture turned out to be temporary. This in itself is not good and not bad, among young people it causes longing.

Now, instead of maintaining balance, the local television channels are constantly inviting regulars of national show business, wedding singers, performing the usual “traditional” music without a call. Maybe now the rock is listening to only five percent of our society, it seems to me so. Sitting in parks and playing your acoustic guitar one of his favorite classes.

Masud tells how often he is mistaken for a street musician, trying to throw money. Masud refuses - says that he plays here for the soul. But even his life circumstances forces him to work out outside the punk and without non -conformism. I have never heard about this genre of music. Nevertheless, I agreed. At first it was difficult for me. I was a rock musician for a long time and suddenly I had to completely change the genre. In the soul, Masud, of course, remains a rocker. And he still loves to perform rocks in pubs:-I am very sorry that rock music could not achieve proper development with us.

Well, at least there are pubs. Sometimes you can listen to rock there. But this is very little, this is not enough. I perform rock and continue to love him as before.

But I have to earn. Unfortunately, this is the fact that everyone wants to earn well and sometimes musicians have to change the genre of their performance, temporarily or even for life. When I performed with my rock groups, we earned, but very little. I became the vocalist of the Live or Leave group. Together with my friend Anar founded this group. Then I created the punk group The Same.

More than now. Tickets were sold out quickly and concerts took place as it should. Then we also performed in Ganja at the Rock Festival “Baku Wind”. There was a real rock atmosphere. As it should.
