Biography Magomed Kasumov

Gamzatova was deployed by the book exhibition “Life with a song”, dedicated to the anniversary of the composer Kasum Magomedov, the first Tabasaran musician who received a higher musical education. The exhibition presents the works of the composer and literature about his work. In Dagestan there is an amazing edge of Tabasaran, with its enchanting nature, with a hearty hospitable people - Tabasaranians, which has an original musical culture.

In the early 10ths of the last century, a composer, singer and teacher Magomedov Kasum Magomedovich began to occupy a prominent place in the musical culture of Tabasaran and Dagestan. Born on July 16, the village of Julie is especially different in Tabasaran with its scientists, masters of stone and wood carvings, pottery production and musicians, among whom are the best -known Chungur Murtazaev Ali, Kemanchist Shikhgafizov Alimagomed and father Kasum Magomed Magomedov, who played perfectly in the chungur.

It must be assumed that, being a boy, Kasum did not remain indifferent to the game on the Chungur of his father and other virtuoso musicians of the village, who undoubtedly became his first music teachers. After the seven -year -old he entered the Derbent pedagogical school. He worked as a teacher. While still a student, he composed songs to the verses of Tabasaran poets, performed folk songs, collected Tabasaran musical folklore.

He was the first Tabasaran professional composer, a member of the Union of Composers of Russia, laureate of the All -Union Television Competition "Comrade Song of G", laureate of the international festival "Music of Friends" in. In the city, the collection was called "Song of the Motherland." The composer for many years was engaged in the collection and decryption of Tabasaran musical folklore.

The result of this work was a large collection “Tabasaran folk melodies and songs”, published by the Daggiz publishing house in Kasum Magomedov repeatedly spent creative evenings in Makhachkala, Derbent and in the Tabasaran district. Kasum is a professional singer who has a beautiful, soft, even sounding voice. The composer’s pen also belongs to such large classic works as “Concertino for the Claret and the Symphony Orchestra” I would like to believe that the collection of Kasum Magomedov will be a serious work to attract and introduce Tabasaran youth to the high and beautiful world of musical art.
